Benjamin Franklin  was one of the Founding Fathers. A polymath, he was an author and printer,  satirist, political theorist, politician, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. If you want to learn more about him go to this site.

Slaves and the War

Many slaves were evolved during the Revolutionary War. Slave owners were offered $1000 for able-bodied slaves. During this, slaves had a type of freedom but not quite. They would fight and if they survived they were awarded with freedom. But, this began to upset England, SO THEY BEGAN TO OFFER THE SAME DEAL!!!! Slaves had to chose. That obviously was trouble for them.

Weapons of the War

During the American Revolution, they used many different types of weapons.  Some of these weapons were...

*Muskets-ranges were short range and inaccurate. Brown Bess was the most common and effective.

*Bayonets-one of the most dangerous weapons. They were triangular so when you got stabbed, it could never be sealed all the way. Most people would bleed to death.

*Rifles-were not first choice since they took a LONG time to load.

*Pistols-mostly used by officers and Calvary

*Cannons-could shoot 100s of yards.  Each cannon needed 7-14 men. Each man had his own job and tools. Jobs ranged from lighting it to choosing the angle.

Act Repealed

 The English debts mounted and the landowners were angry. Also the British government didn't want trouble, and powerful merchants in London  hinted to the king that a conflict in the colonies would be bad for business. So they repealed the Suger Act in 1766,Americans danced in the streets to celebrate their"glorious victory over England."

 Duirng the French and Indian War, or Seven Year War represented the turning  point in the British Colonies relation.
